Hello all! This post is coming to you from a newly married woman! Please notice the blog name-change. It may change again, but as of now it is "The Powell Platoon". Cute, right??
The wedding was wonderful! Marcus and I are married, so clearly everything went well :) I will be posting several times about the wedding, so be on the lookout for that. Some of the things I will be posting are obviously pictures, details, some crafts we did, and advice for future brides, wedding party, and guests.
We want to thank everyone for being a part of our special day. The new photo at the top was taken courtesy of our photographer, Billy Davis. Please check out his website if you need any pictures taken ever. www.whdphotography.com Billy is a family friend, but he has a great way of making people laugh, he is very funny, and can put anyone at ease. We absolutely love him. He has posted about 15 pictures so far, and all of them are great! We can't wait to see more pictures!!
Of course, several other people have been posting pictures on facebook, and we love them all!! I love pictures, there are so many around our house, so we are really enjoying seeing what everyone took pictures of.
We leave for our honeymoon on Thursday and are super excited about that. I am hoping to get all of the name change business done before then :)
Again, thanks to all!

Shopping trip
If you saw my facebook post yesterday, you know I went shopping yesterday. Shopping has become more and more frustrating for me over the years. I don't like spending money on things that are ill-fitting. I've resorted to wearing "flowy" shirts a lot, but my biggest issue is always with my bottom half. It is SO frustrating to go into a store and see the majority of their fits are "straight through the hip and thigh". Seriously, don't most women have hips that curve? Lately, the only pants I've found that fit well are from the Loft, and their curvy fit. Even Gap's curvy fit gap at the waist.
Needless to say, yesterday I tried on about 100 things and was unhappy with most of what I tried on. Part of this is because I want to lose a few pounds, but I also find it hard to find things that flatter me, regardless of my insecurities. It was a frustrating day, but I did get a really cute blue and white striped cardigan from The Loft, and some capris, along with a mint colored tank top (I've been wanting something mint), and a plain white tee from Gap.
Also, I got these shoes! I'm so excited to wear them and actually use them! They're pretty comfy and super light.
and, in case you were wondering...6 days!!

8 days a week...
8 days. 8 measly little days until I will officially be Mrs. Powell.
EEEEKKK!!! So excited. There is still a good bit to do, but I am so so so so so excited for this day to come. The past year and five months have been the best of my life and I am so happy to make this official :)
Oh, and let me also point out that I am getting three for the price of one. That's right, on July 14 not only do I get this handsome face...

But I also get this one...
(Ri-guy)
AND this one
(Mr. Buddy).
Can you say lucky girl?? Cause I can ;)
Tonight, Marcus and I are going on our last date as an engaged couple. My parents and brother will be in town for Marcus' bachelor party, and my mom and I are going to get into trouble go shopping Hilton Head.
Updates on all that, later
Love and Thanks,

Bachelorette Party
Photos of my bachelorette party! We went to dinner at Eclipse de Luna in Atlanta, and then went out to Hole in the Wall. I had a blast and I love all of these lovely ladies who came out!! Thanks for everything, I'm so lucky to have you!!
A large sigh of relief....
And I'm done. I'm finished with my masters, which felt like it took longer than my Bachelor degree. I will probably start my Ed.S. online at Valdosta in the fall...right now I'm still considering it. Whatever I chose, it will be all online. Or I may just take a break!
Speaking of my bachelor degree and college, I've had a lot of thoughts over the past few weeks over how much I've grown and changed, even in the past year. Marcus and I are getting married in three weeks, and I am so happy in the place that we and I am at. It took a long time to get where I am now.
Do you ever wish you could go back and tell your former-self things? I hate saying that I have regrets, because I think that everything that happens in your life leads you to where you are now, and right now I am very happy. However, if I have any regrets it is how I treated certain people in my life. I spent a long time unsure of myself, semi-unhappy, and letting my opinions be easily influenced by other people. Its not that those people were bad, in fact they were all very good people, but when you let other peoples opinions become your own, you lose a sense of yourself. When you lose a sense of yourself, you do things you end up being not proud of. There are a few people in particular that I know I treated poorly, people who were good to me and wanted the best for me, and to those people, I want to say that I am sorry. We may not be close like we once were, but you will always be in my heart, I will always love and care for you.
So, to my former-self: Follow your heart. If something feels remotely wrong, it is wrong. If you love someone, tell them. If you miss them, tell them. If you are sorry for how you behaved, by all means, tell them. What you allow to happen, will continue to happen. Never take anyone or anything for granted. It is natural that people will come and go out of your life, but it doesn't need or have to be on bad terms. Love everyone, and be understanding, for you never know what they are going through behind the scenes. Oh, and be yourself and believe in yourself.
I am so happy to be at the point in my life where I truly feel that I can be myself, and everyone I am close to loves and respects me for who I am, including my opinions. We all make mistakes, and my friends lovingly help me through those mistakes. Marcus and I have been so blessed throughout our engagement. We have so many people who have sent well-wishes, love, and support. I am so glad that we will begin our marriage with such a great circle of friends.
I know that I would not be where I am at today without my future hubby, Marcus. I've never met anyone who is so encouraging and loving and loves me for me. He inspires me to be a better person, a better me. I am so excited to have only 20 days until I become his WIFE!!!
Thank you all for molding me into the person I am.
Love and thanks,
~Ang

High Five for Friday
Link up number two...I'm on a roll :)

Five best things about this week!
1. I found my wedding shoes!! I have literally bought three pair already, but one I thought was orange was actually red, and the other was just because I was desperate and hadn't found anything. And these babies, which are perfect! I haven't got them in yet, but I'm so excited!

2. I got the bridesmaid's jewelry! I'm not posting a picture because I want it to be a surprise for them, but the jewelry is orange and I love it!
3. I have TWO WEEKS until I'm done with my masters. Can I get a hallelujah? Thank you Lord. I will then be a two time graduate of Georgia Southern University!
4. Pool day tomorrow!! Marcus and I's friends Chaz and Katherine live in a community that has a really cool pool, so we're excited to take Riley there tomorrow! They have a big slide...I'm pretty pumped about that :)
5. We got two gifts in the mail today! A set of tervis tumblers from a coworker and some cooking utensils from a great aunt. I just love presents :)
And that's it. How was your week?

Oh how Pinteresting...
This is my first ever link-up...hoping I do this right!!
When I was first introduced to Pinterest I would say I spent about, oh, 2 hours a day on there! Probably not that much, but it really felt like it. I was pinning like a mad woman! After a while, as with all things, that slowed down. Since summer has started, I'm back on it more. Getting ready for the wedding is in high gear now, and for some reason I have my dream home on my mind, a lot. My top five pins this week:
1. Lauren Conrad shoe guide, which provided me with my wedding shoes!! Those will be posted as soon as I get them :)
2. Kate Middleton's newest dresses. She is absolutely my style-idol. I love pretty much everything she wears, including this dress. I found one similar at belk today, but I couldn't justify buying it. Don't you just hate that?
3. I absolutely love this!! So sweet. A must after the wedding
4. One of my favorite things, ever!
5. I love, love, love!
Well, that's my first link up, and my first "Oh how Pinteresting..."
My goal is to update more now that summmaaa time is here and I am two weeks away from being done with my masters! Praise the LORD!!!
