Buddy's paintings

Little by little, this room will come together.
Spring Break for me is ON! I built this lovely little bookshelf. Okay, I put it together.
In the middle are books and all around are Buddy's other toys.
I painted these signs this last night. Marcus is a big sports fan, and these are his favorite teams! I'm not a big an of the Patriots one...but Marcus said he liked it, so whatever.
I also have cork boards that I've had in my houses since my freshman year of college. I've painted them blue and red, and they will be hung up soon with pictures :) In less than two weeks we will have his bunk bed...YAY!

After we get the bunk beds all that will be left is painting his dresser...which I'm scared to death about.

Anyway, just wanted to share! We are headed to Snellville this weekend for my first wedding shower, a Braves game, and the Renaissance Festival! Look for a big update after that :)

Love to all

Caprese Salad

I have a confession to make...I used to hate tomatoes. I know, how can you be part Italian and hate tomatoes?

Then, in 2007 I went to Italy for nine days with my family. enter caprese and my love for tomatoes. Some restaurant we went to brought it out and I couldn't help but try it! Since then I've had a serious obsession with anything combining mozzarella and tomatoes.

Ingredients are best fresh, but since I live in an apartment, there's no way I can grow Roma tomatoes and I couldn't find fresh mozzarella. Still yummy. I found prosciutto. in small pieces and added that.

I suggest using the best olive oil you have. The more flavorful, the better. For most cooking I just use regular walmart olive oil, but I do try to keep a more expensive brand around for things that call for a tasty olive oil. This would be one of them

I snack on this whenever I get a little hungry but don't need a whole meal. It holds me over easily

Cut Roma tomatoes in half
Cut mozzarella in small bite size pieces
Add prosciutto pieces
Drizzle with good olive oil
Add Italian seasoning
Chill in fridge

ENJOY

New member to the family

Meet Simba :)

An update on life

Whew! Finally got some major things done. We're all moved in, just waiting on the boy's bunk bed and a kitchen table, which will be here in a couple weeks. I cannot wait for all that.

Next on my to-do list is to finish a major paper for school. Soccer is over, we came in second and had a wonderful season. I love those girls!! I am sad the season is over, but I am happy to have a little rest time.

Marcus and I picked a place for the rehersal dinner, and we've decided on flowers. We have an appointment for the cake, so all that is left is the DJ. Invitations have been ordered! Yay!

There are a few things that I would like to get done around the house...some DIY projects, but those will come in due time. I have a lot of projects I'd like to do for the wedding over the summer, and I cannot wait for that time off!! The first room I want to work on is Buddy's room. We have a book shelf to put together, and i have painted two things, but I need to frame them and hang them up. I have one more painting to do for his room, and some cork boards to paint. I also want to paint his dresser...but that is a project I'm a little scared of. We'll see!!

I hope to update the blog more and make it a little more user friendly. I only have 6 followers...but hopefully if I fix it up, I'll add some more to the list :) I've been reading quite a few blogs lately. I do have a questions for my blogging friends...how do you add pictures? When I add from my computer they add funny, like a weird color or half black. I've been uploading from my phone, but I know there's got to be an easier way...help!!

In the upcoming weeks I have my first bridal shower, a pampered chef bridal shower, and spring break!! If you'd like to book a Premier Designs Jewelry party with me, please let me know!!

Apartment -furnished

Our living room, when you walk in the front door, I wish I could keep that table behind the couch, but it is my brothers and will be going back to him soon. I would like to find a bench with a space for three baskets...or another couch table.

The couch and my lovely picture from Ikea. That is a photo on a canvas...it's huge and was only $60 bucks!! I love IKEA!

The other side of the living room. Almost all of the pictures in the living room are travel pictures. The ones hanging here were taken in New York when I went to visit my friend, Amber, who was going to Columbia at the time. I love them :)

Kitchen...not much to see here.

My desk. I need to re-hang those pictures, they're a little crooked :)

My kitchen table!!!!
Just kidding. We are getting a table at the beginning of May. This is Buddy's Cars table. The paintings we done by my friend Haley. She is one talented lady...I need to commission her to do more :)

Our Pantry!!Dollar tree decked out in all of its glory. I love it!!

Next up is the only completed room in the apartment, apart from the living room. Buddy and Riley's bathroom! I got the majority of the decorations off a yard sale site on facebook for $18. Awesome deal.

The painting was done by my friend Misty before I left for college. It has been in every bathroom since I was 18. Buddy has inherited it, now :)

And my favorite part of the boys bathroom...This picture I made on Snapfish!! I took these pictures one weekend when we had both the boys, and I knew I had to put them in the next bathroom, somehow. I saw on pinterest a sign on the wall that said "splish splash I was taking a bath..." and also loved that, so I combined the two! I will eventually frame this, but i just love it!!!

The guest bedroom...Need to put up decorations. The mattress is so low because its on the floor because the bed broke. We need to get new slats for the bottom.

And the master bedroom. It has a quilt the same pattern as the duvet in the guest room. I loved that pattern from IKEA, Marcus calls it my "grandma quilt". We registered for something different, so hopefully we'll get it soon and the grandma quilt can go to the guest room!

The canvas above the bed is from PixWraps.com. I got it for $25!!!! Saw a coupon online. It took a while to come in, but I love it. I'm going to get some of our wedding once we are married :)

Please notice our new addition to the family, Simba, by the bed ;)

And the Master bath, which is not so exciting, either. Hopefully we'll get the stuff we registered for soon, also.

New apartment...again
