17 Weeks

17 Week Pregnancy Survey

How Far Along: 17 weeks

Size of babyYour baby's skeleton is changing from soft cartilage to bone, and the umbilical cord — her lifeline to the placenta — is growing stronger and thicker. Your baby weighs 5 ounces now (about as much as a turnip), and she's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. She can move her joints, and her sweat glands are starting to develop.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: 3-5 lbs so far. Spring break was apparently too good to me, according to my scale I've gained 2 pounds this week. Whoops. I just went grocery shopping and got a bunch of healthy food so I'll get back on the right track.

What I miss: not much

Sleep: I am sleeping pretty well still getting up for the potty 2 times per night.

Symptoms: my belly decided to grow last night, apparently. I've had some back pain this week, as well.

Cravings: Cold drinks!

Movement: I am reading that this is coming soon and I can't wait! They say it is little flutters and possibly could be feeling them already just may not be sure of what I am feeling.

Best Moments this week: Seeing my family in Atlanta! Also, Baby Powell already has two adorable outfits thanks to Stefanie and Tamara!

What I'm looking forward to: Feeling the baby and going yard sale shopping this weekend. Man, I feel so old.

It's a girl!!!

Look at that precious little thing!! Our baby girl :) We are super, super excited, of course. I think it finally hit me today that there is a human growing in there and we will have a baby in just a few months! I kind of knew that it would take me seeing the baby looking like a baby for it to hit me...we are just SO excited!

Yesterday was our 16 week appointment. We had to pay extra to find out the gender at this appointment, but we could not wait any longer! We went for our appointment at 11:15...waited to see the doc till around 12, and then when we got done the ultrasound lady had gone on her lunch...she didn't realize she had me on the schedule (we changed our appointment from 3 to 11 earlier and her schedule still had me at 3). Anyway, we went to get lunch, came back and then got to have our ultrasound! SO exciting. It was so cool.

So of course I am already scouring pinterest for baby room ideas. The following photos were copied straight from pinterest, and are some of my ideas...Marcus hasn't approved yet ;)

Love these colors! No bumpers of course... They aren't safe... but this is def gonna be in the top five choices of a girls room if I have a girl-- LIZ

I love this color combo ad that its not "baby" pink.

.

Look at those ruffles!!

Gah...so sweet.

That is for now. Just gonna go and freak out some more and research random baby stuff.

Have a great day :)

16 Week Survey!

How Far Along
: 16 weeks

Size of babyGet ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length.  Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. I also read that they can start hearing you so time to start talking to baby.
Total Weight Gain/Loss: According to the doctors scale, 2 pounds

What I miss: Nothing this week

Sleep: I've been sleeping through the night more this week! We switched sides of the bed and I think that helped for some reason.

Symptoms: Hello, heartburn. And some stomach issues, too.

Cravings: Nothing major.

Best Moments this week:  Finding out the gender!!! Its a GIRL!!!!!

What we are looking forward to: My cousin Katey's wedding, Saturday

15 Weeks

15 Week Survey

How Far Along: 15 weeks

Size of baby: Your growing baby now measures about 4 inches long, crown to rump, and weighs in at about 2 1/2 ounces (about the size of an apple). She's busy moving amniotic fluid through her nose and upper respiratory tract, which helps the primitive air sacs in her lungs begin to develop. Her legs are growing longer than her arms now, and she can move all of her joints and limbs.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: About a pound

What I miss: the ability to have a drink if I want. Don't drink much, rarely actually, but when I'm stressed a glass of wine or a margarita would be nice :)

Sleep: Nothing new, still peeing

Symptoms: My stomach is starting to get a bump...thats about it.

Cravings: Mexican. Man, I hope we get some El Real this weekend!!

Best Moments this week: Getting this house clean!! I know that makes me old. But, it is still clean and that is awesome!

What we are looking forward to: My parents coming this weekend! They are coming for Easter and we have some good plans with the boys and everything. I'm excited to see them!

14 Weeks!

14 week survey!

How Far Along: 14 weeks 1 Day

Size of baby: Your baby, now as long as a lemon, weighs about 1 1/2 ounces. (Length: 3 1/2 inches, head to bottom.) This week's big developments: Your baby can now squint, frown, grimace, pee, and possibly suck it's thumb!
Total Weight Gain/Loss: about half a pound

What I miss: wine! Haha. CRCT is this week and it has been kind of stressful. I'm not a big drinker, but a glass or three wouldn't be bad right now.

Sleep: I am getting up a few times a night to go to the bathroom, but other than I'm good.

Symptoms: Nothing currently. My belly is starting to poke out.

Cravings: Mexican. and cheese. and pasta.

Best Moments this week: The foot rub my hubby gave me last night :)

What we are looking forward to:  A weekend to clean the house! It is in dire need of it. Marcus will focus on the yard and bathrooms, I'll focus on the guest room and the boys room.

I still feel like I just a big lunch. I think it'll actually feel real for me when we go for our 16 week appointment and we get to see a real face and know the gender!

13 Weeks

13 Week Survey

How Far Along: 13 weeks

Size of baby: Your baby has reached the size of a medium shrimp and weighs nearly an ounce. (Length: almost 3 inches, head to bottom.) Fingerprints have formed on your baby's tiny fingertips, her veins and organs are clearly visible through her still-thin skin, and her body is starting to catch up with her head. The baby center website uses his/her interchangeably so I'm not changing it and it doesn't mean that's what we're having. We don't know yet.

Total Weight Gain/Loss: I don't think I've gained anything more than a pound or two, if that.

What I miss: Nothing really.

Sleep: I feel like I am up to pee a lot, and sometimes it takes longer than normal to go back to sleep.

Symptoms: I am terrified to take my prenatal vitamin because the past few times I have gotten sick. Other than that, I feel pretty good.

Cravings: Ham. Like, a ham and cheese sandwich is SO good to me right now.And any cold drink.

Best Moments this week: alone time this weekend with the hubs. I had big plans for organization, but it was nice to spend the weekend just the two of us without a ton to do.

What we are looking forward to:  Having the boys this weekend! We switch off weeks with Buddy's mom, Sarah, and then we have Riley every other weekend. Luckily it works out that we have the boys together every other weekend. While we do enjoy our alone time, by the end of Sarah's week with Buddy it is too quiet around our house and we are ready for the pitter patter of his little feet! Marcus wants to take the boys to see the new Captain America movie this weekend, and it should be beautiful out, so hopefully we can get some good outside time in!

Once I feel like I have a real bump, I'll put a picture up, but again, right now I don't really feel like it is a true preggo belly.
