A not-so-busy weekend

Whew! The past few weeks have been crazy! Finally, we had a weekend with absolutely no plans. Friday night, Marcus planned a sleepover with his two sons, Riley and Buddy. We went to a Fall Festival at a local church with a few friends and their kids. There were hay rides, games, sand art, and, of course, food!

I can't figure out why the color is like that? Who knows. Anyway, after the fall festival we watched Cars and the boys finally fell asleep around midnight. The next afternoon Marcus and I had a Savannah lunch date at Tony Romos...yum! It was so good. Then we had a quiet night in. I made cookie dough cheesecake bars from a recipe on pinterest...OH MY WOW

Mine did not look quite this good, but still good, all the same.

I am pretty much obsessed with Pinterest. I think I have mentioned this already...but seriously, its awesome. We have some pretty cool wedding idea's from there. Speaking of wedding...here is what we have, so far:

We are using these colors. The girls will have similar color dresses and flowers.
groomsmen attire
and the guys will have tan suits.

and it will be pretty.
ha.
yes, thats pretty much all we have. We are going to look at a few places over Thanksgiving, but we REALLY want to get married at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History.

how pretty is this?? We are also looking at Flint Hill, the Carl House, and the Payne-Corley house. Marcus is pulling for Fernbank, though.

Anyway, thats it for now!

Wedding season has ended

Well, for me at least. This past weekend I was in my good friend Ashley and James' wedding. Friday we went and had our nails done and enjoyed the rehearsal dinner a Church hills. Saturday Marcus went and played paintball with the groomsmen and had "the best time of his life", while the girls got ready. We had an elegant bridesmaid luncheon and then got out hair and make up done. Ashley looked beautiful and had the most gorgeous bridal party ever :)

Ashley and James did a first sight, which was awesome because we got to take a lot of pictures before and were able to enjoy the reception. The ceremony was beautiful and we had so much fun at the reception and at the after party :) we spent the rest of the weekend relaxing. We heard that Nick and Stephanie's wedding was beautiful as well. Can't wait to see all the pictures!

After the four weddings we went to this summer we now have a lot of ideas for what to do next summer at ours. We are excited to start getting some real plans down soon, also. Does anyone have any suggestions for us??

Weddings and birthdays

Marcus and I are enjoying planning our wedding. As of now we have random details together and we know our colors. Thanksgiving break we are going to look at venues and I am going to look at dresses...we are so excited! We should be taking engagement pictures soon, as well. Yay!

This past weekend was so busy, we are looking forward to a time when we have nothing to do. Saturday we went to Riley's birthday party. He loves super Heros and he an Buddy had a great time running around playing!

After his party we rushed to Ryan and Penny's wedding. It was a beautiful ceremony and reception, I wish we could have stayed longer! Penny looked gorgeous as usual.

This coming weekend our good friends Ashley and James are getting married and I am honored to be a part of their big day! Another one of our favorite couples is getting married, also, Stephanie and Nick. We are so sad we cant make both weddings! I am sure both of the brides will be beautiful!!

In other news, I am now completely obsessed with pinterest. Holy cow that site is awesome. If you're not on it, you should be. Also, I got an iPhone 4s... It's amazing and I'm in love!

That's it for now! <3

Life since being engaged

The weekend we got engaged Marcus and I threw a wedding shower for Ashley and James. It was a Sunday Funday fiesta theme...too fun. I think it was a pretty good success!

The next day we had the Volleyball banquet. We enjoyed time with the girls with everyone dressed up, and it was good eating, too! They all said they wanted to be flower girls in the wedding (so I'm up to...28 I believe??)

This past weekend we drove to Atlanta to spend time with my family and celebrate my sisters birthday. We went to dinner with Katie and Trey and met up with Sallerson on Friday night. Then on Saturday morning we went to the cheer competition at Pope High School. The girls got FIRST in the small group division and GRAND CHAMPION of the entire competition! SO proud!!

That night we had chicken and dumpling pie for Kerry's bday (yay!) and then went to Stone Mountain to watch the laser show.

The next day mom, Marcus, and I went to Six Flags! We didn't get to ride the Superman, but we did everything else (minus Marcus and the ninja...he wouldn't do it bc a girl said it hurt)

Now we're preparing for the next two weekends...Penny and Ryan are getting married Saturday, and Ashley and James are next weekend! Nick and Stephanie are also getting married that day, and we are so sad we can't be there, but I am sure it will be a beautiful wedding, also!

He got down on one knee...

And I said yes!

Okay, so I wrote this last week...and I am just now getting the chance to write! Life is crazy busy!
So...the story of how the love of my life asked me to be his wife:

Marcus and I went on a double date with Ashley and James last friday night. The plan was to go to dinner at the Cotton Exchange on River Street, and then take a ghost tour. Well, we ended up getting downtown pretty late to start dinner, so during dinner we decided not to do the tour, and just walk around Savannah for a little bit.

This is us at dinner, before he proposed. The second picture is funny bc I think it shows how nervous Marcus was :) Ashley and James said he was sooo talkative at dinner, they had no idea how I didn't guess something was up...but I just thought it was normal Marcus, haha.

So after dinner we walked around River Street because Oktoberfest was going on. While we were there Marcus and James were talking to a photographer and he supposedly tells them that there is a ghost at Habersham square. So Marcus, who is a HUGE fan of ghost hunters, says we have to go "see" it. (I'm thinking how are we going to see a ghost?? But I went along with it). So we walk all the way there (on the way we stopped and went into a cigar shop for James....later I found out it was for celebratory cigars). Anyway, we get to the square and Marcus and I are standing by the fountain and he asks for a hug. Then he got down on one knee...

And then he put the beautiful ring on my finger
and then we hugged and kissed

How do I flip these pictures? I can't figure it out!

 I said yes! Yay!!

The ring! The band and two diamonds next to the center diamond were his great grandmothers. The center diamond and diamonds in the band were his grandmothers. This ring is SO special to me and I am SO honored to wear it!!
